Union Minister Babul Supriyo hit out at Pakistani artists all over again, asking for a temporary ban on them in the Hindi film industry, till the situation on the India-Pakistan border gets better.
Supriyo, a singer-turned-politician, had said Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice in the song Ishtehaar from the film Welcome To New York must be removed and dubbed by someone else as he was not able to comprehend the need or desire to cross the border for entertainment content, at a time when tensions on the India-Pakistan border had escalated.
To a tweet by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan that said, "In midst of so much being said all I can say is music has no boundaries and thank everyone for showing so much love for the songs which I am a part of......," Babul replied, "India loves u but as I speak 2 u, PakArmyHelicopters r hovering provocatively close 2 our borders breaching bilateral norms. India gave u a lot. Can u reciprocate the love by condemning terror&any assistance that any1 frm Pak is providing these terrorists(ample proof exists Bhai) (sic)"
