The demise of legendary performer Umer Sharif shook the entertainment industry to its core. The undisputed King of Comedy was showered with tributes from celebrities and fans who felt deeply saddened by the irreplaceable loss.

Now, Indian celebrities like Anupam Kher, Jaaved Jaaferi, along with Pakistani actors Hareem Farooq and Mehwish Hayat, as well as American comedian Jeremy Mclellan have also taken to social media to join those mourning while paying tribute to the legendary icon.

Kher shared a video on his Instagram upon learning about Sharif’s passing. In the clip he said, “My heart is filled with grief and sadness after hearing the news of Umer Sharif’s demise. There are very few personalities on Earth who just spread laughter and happiness, Umer Sharif sahab was one of them, my condolences to his fans around the world and his family members. But as sad as we feel about his demise, it is necessary to celebrate the life he has lived because a person who makes the world laugh should and can never be forgotten.”

In the caption he bid farewell to the late performer. “Goodbye Janab Umer Sharif sahab…Deeply saddened to know about the demise of the legendary comedian, actor and humanitarian #UmerShareef Saab. He was a legend in the true sense! Met him in London many years back. His effortless humour was infectious. Learnt a lot from him. May almighty give his family and fans the courage to deal with the loss.”
